Ahead of Singapore Comic Con 2025, Indonesia strengthened its creative economy outreach by convening a business forum in Singapore to promote local intellectual property and cross-border collaboration
The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Singapore supported Indonesia’s expanding creative presence by facilitating engagements ahead of Singapore Comic Con (SGCC) 2025, held from 5 to 8 December. On 5 December 2025, a delegation from Indonesia’s Ministry of Creative Economy, led by Deputy for Media Creativity Ms Agustini Rahayu, met with the Deputy Head of Mission of Indonesia in Singapore, Mr Thomas Ardian Siregar. The delegation comprised Indonesian comic artists, representatives from the Ministry of Creative Economy, and the Jakarta Provincial Office of Tourism and Creative Economy.

The meeting highlighted the importance of sustained promotion of local creative intellectual property (IP), leveraging market opportunities in Singapore, and expanding networks among creators, government institutions, and international partners. Discussions also underscored the role of such collaboration in strengthening bilateral relations while opening wider global opportunities for Indonesia’s creative economy.

On the same day, KBRI Singapore, in collaboration with the Ministry of Creative Economy, organised a Business Forum and Networking Session with Indonesia Creative IP and Service Company at the Nusantara Room of the Indonesian Embassy. The forum was officially opened by Ms Agustini Rahayu and Mr Thomas Ardian Siregar.
The Business Forum brought together creative industry players with investors, distributors, and regional partners to explore opportunities for IP commercialisation, cross-border collaboration, and regional market penetration. It also addressed market prospects and creative production partnerships within the digital ecosystem, reinforcing Indonesia’s commitment to positioning its creative industries on the regional and global stage.
