Indonesia presented data centre priorities through its Embassy and Ambassador in Singapore.
Data Centre World Asia 2026 was held at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre in Singapore on 29–30 September 2026 as part of Tech Week Singapore. The 12th edition focused on the development of data centre and digital infrastructure, with the programme addressing issues including AI-ready infrastructure, energy resilience, cooling, sustainability, connectivity and digital operations.
Indonesia featured in the programme through H.E. Dr. Hotmangaradja Pontas Pandjaitan, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Singapore. On 29 September, H.E. Dr. Hotmangaradja delivered a keynote titled “Connecting Southeast Asia’s Digital Future: Indonesia’s Role in the Next Generation of Data Centres”, focusing on Indonesia’s role and opportunities in the development of data centre infrastructure in Southeast Asia.
In the presentation, H.E. Dr. Hotmangaradja highlighted Indonesia’s digital market potential, investment opportunities and commitment to sustainable green energy. He also referred to digital connectivity between Indonesia and Singapore, including the Nongsa-Changi submarine cable, in the context of Indonesia’s wider digital infrastructure development.
The keynote followed an engagement at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Singapore on 28 September. The Embassy received a delegation from the Indonesia Data Center Ecosystem Council (IDCEC), led by its Chairman, Mr. Nawi Jaya, to discuss preparations for Indonesia’s participation in Data Centre World Asia 2026 and Tech Week Singapore.
The meeting also addressed Indonesia’s digital industry and potential cooperation in investment, green energy and digital talent. According to the Embassy’s statement, the discussion further covered the development of a resilient and secure data centre ecosystem and Indonesia’s role in digital infrastructure.
The Embassy meeting provided a direct lead-in to Indonesia’s participation in the event the following day. H.E. Dr. Hotmangaradja’s keynote then brought Indonesia’s priorities into the wider industry discussion, linking data centre development with investment, energy and connectivity.
IDCEC also continued its participation in the programme with a session titled “Beyond Data Centres: Building Indonesia’s Digital Infrastructure Ecosystem” on 30 September. Mr. Nawi Jaya was scheduled to lead the session, which addressed the wider requirements of Indonesia’s digital infrastructure, including energy, connectivity, investment, technology, construction, talent, government and standards.
Together, the Embassy’s engagement and Indonesia’s participation at Data Centre World Asia 2026 provided a basis for continued discussion on the country’s digital infrastructure development. The engagement also created further space for dialogue on investment, energy, talent and connectivity between Indonesia, Singapore and the wider data centre industry.
