SAMSUNG announced its collaboration with National Gallery Singapore (NGS) to bring consumers a curated selection of prominent artworks by Singaporean and Southeast Asian artists from the Gallery’s collection with the launch of its latest range of lifestyle TVs also known as The Frame this April.
More beautiful works of art are finding a new channel (pardon the pun) for display. The 10 new artworks will be added to its Art Store collection of more than 1,600 others from 54 global partners. NGS joins a prestigious list of art galleries and museums ranging from the French Louvre, Van Goh Museum in Amsterdam to the Leeum Museum of Art in South Korea.
Art lovers and consumers will above all appreciate how all the high resolution images of these masterpieces are able to be beautifully reproduced on screen on the latest generation of The Frame TVs.
Mr Mark Kim, President of Samsung Electronics Singapore shared “Many of us are leveraging technology to fulfill personal passions. We’re also seeing more instances of art and technology coming together, whereby artists, collectors, and museums are exploring digital solutions to create and showcase their art. The Frame, which has gained widespread popularity among homeowners around the world, enables consumers to enjoy art in the comfort of their homes. With this collaboration with National Gallery Singapore, we hope to introduce Singapore and Southeast Asian art to more individuals via our Art Store.”
The Singapore selection includes works by prominent artists, including Market Place by Chen Chong Swee, Boschbrand (Forest Fire) by Raden Saleh, Jetty at Sinde by U Ba Nyan, Singapore Waterfront by Georgette Chen, Barber by Ong Kim Seng, among others.
Plans to expand the collection for The Frame users in the future are in the pipeline.
The other star of the show that took centrestage at the launch is the new model Samsung LS03B The Frame Art Mode 4K QLED Smart TV.
The Frame is part of Samsung’s Lifestyle TV lineup, designed to not only deliver exceptional visual quality but also elevate living environments. The Frame is most known for its customisable bezel design with a slim 24.9mm profile, which complements with any interior. Besides having The Frame on the wall, users can also choose to mount the TV on its new Simple Stand3, or Studio Stand, which allows for more versatility and flexibility in how it is utilised in homes.
The Frame can also be used as a canvas for displaying personal memories through the My Photo feature, which showcases digital photos from smartphones or USB flash drives in a variety of framed configurations. The new model will come with a Matte Display, which eliminates glare caused by ambient light reflection for a more comfortable and pleasant screen experience.
Users can truly appreciate their favourite art pieces in their truest form, admiring the textures and intricacies as they are meant to be. In addition, The Frame comes equipped with Samsung’s Quantum Dot technology and Quantum Processor 4K which deliver vivid details on screen.
