Indonesia’s annual presence at ITB Asia aimed to bolster tourism promotion and expand business networks in the creative economy sector
Deputy Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore, Mr Sulistijo Djati Ismojo, inaugurated the booth of Jakarta’s Department of Tourism and Creative Economy (Disparekraf) at ITB Asia 2024, held at Marina Bay Sands. The annual tourism and travel exhibition, ITB Asia, gathered key industry players, including travel agencies, hotel operators, airlines, and tourism boards worldwide, creating an international platform for networking and tourism promotion.
The booth, themed around DKI Jakarta, was designed to attract the interest of tourists and international partners, strengthening Jakarta’s position as a premier tourist destination and creative economy hub in Asia. This initiative aligned with Indonesia’s goal to elevate Jakarta’s global profile as a dynamic city and sought-after travel destination.
Indonesia’s participation in ITB Asia reflected the nation’s commitment to boosting tourism and expanding its creative economy network. Through the Jakarta booth, Disparekraf presented diverse tourism packages, creative products, and traditional Betawi cultural performances, aiming to capture the interest of international visitors and collaborators alike.
As ITB Asia 2024 provided a strategic avenue for global tourism industry engagement, Disparekraf DKI Jakarta hoped its presence would foster new business partnerships, attract more international tourists, and promote Jakarta’s offerings on the world stage. By showcasing Jakarta’s unique cultural heritage and innovative tourism packages, Indonesia leveraged ITB Asia to connect with a global audience and build collaborative opportunities in the tourism and creative sectors.
