Deputy Ambassador of RI Singapore inaugurated the Indonesia Agritech Startup & Tourism Insight 2024, fostering collaboration and innovation in agriculture and tourism
ON 28 November 2024, Mr. Sulistijo Djati Ismojo, Deputy Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Singapore, officially opened the Indonesia Agritech Startup & Tourism Insight 2024 event. The event, organised by the Business Indonesia Singapore Association (BISA) with support from the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore, aimed to spotlight technology-driven agricultural innovations and promote Indonesian tourism potential to an international audience, particularly in Southeast Asia.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Ismojo highlighted the critical role of collaboration among agritech startups, the government, and private sector players in accelerating digital transformation in agriculture. He also emphasised the importance of bolstering the global competitiveness of Indonesian tourism through innovation and partnership.
The event featured a diverse array of Indonesian agritech startups presenting their cutting-edge solutions, including Internet of Things (IoT)-based tools for farmers and digital platforms tailored to optimising agricultural marketing. A panel discussion also brought together travel experts to explore how technology can be leveraged to enhance the appeal of travel destinations.
This initiative served as a platform for fostering cooperation between Singaporean investors and Indonesian entrepreneurs. By building bridges between these sectors, the event aimed to contribute to sustainable economic growth while positioning Indonesia as a leader in agritech and tourism innovation.
