Indonesian mixed doubles pair Bobby Setiabudi/Melati Daeva Oktavianti climbed the podium after winning the Singapore International Challenge 2025 which took place on 18 – 23 February 2025 at SBH East Coast @ Expo, Singapore.

The Indonesian badminton team achieved remarkable success at the Singapore International Challenge 2025, clinching four titles and two runner-up positions. The tournament took place from 18-23 February at SBH East Coast @ Expo, Singapore. The final matches on 23 February saw Indonesia’s strong presence, with six representatives competing, including an all-Indonesian final in the men’s singles category.

The tournament’s opening final match saw Bobby Setiabudi and Melati Daeva Oktavianti claim the mixed doubles title after defeating Thailand’s Phuwanat Horbanleukit and Fungfa Korpthammakit in straight games, 21-19, 21-16. In the women’s singles final, seventh-seeded Ruzana secured victory over India’s fourth-seeded Unnati Hooda with a score of 21-17, 21-16. However, in the women’s doubles category, Siti Sarah Azzahra and Agnia Sri Rahayu had to settle for second place after a hard-fought match against South Korea’s Jang Eun Seo and Lee Seo Jin, losing 17-21, 21-15, 14-21.

In the men’s singles final, Moh. Zaki Ubaidillah secured his first title of the year by overcoming fellow Indonesian Prahdiska Bagas Shujiwo in straight games, 21-15, 21-17. Expressing his gratitude, Ubaidillah stated that while he was pleased with his performance, he aimed to further improve his physical and mental strength for future tournaments. His coach, Indra Widjaja, praised the dedication and hard work of the team, highlighting their growth and potential.

The final victory of the tournament came from debutants Raymond Indra and Nikolaus Joaquin in the men’s doubles. They triumphed over Singaporean pair Eng Keat Wesley Koh and Junsuke Kubo in a dramatic three-game match, 21-18, 18-21, 22-20. Joaquin credited their success to their coach’s guidance and their ability to stay composed throughout the match.
