Aceh’s traditional leader, Tgk Malik Mahmud Al Haythar, along with the Aceh Education Office, confirmed plans to travel to Singapore following discussions with the Consul-General of Singapore in Medan, Edmund Chia. The visit aimed to advance educational collaboration and explore further opportunities for economic development between Aceh and Singapore.

In recent days, the Aceh delegation conducted a working visit to Medan, where they met with the Singaporean Consulate. The discussions focused on student exchange programmes, education quality improvement, and economic initiatives for Aceh. Malik Mahmud also shared insights on Aceh’s development progress and challenges, receiving a positive response from Edmund Chia.

Following Eid al-Fitr, the Aceh delegation planned to visit Singapore to further discuss and implement the proposed cooperation, particularly in the education sector. The visit was expected to serve as a bilateral initiative and a step towards strengthening partnerships in investment and innovation.

During the discussions, Edmund Chia suggested potential collaborations with Singaporean polytechnics and film schools. He also mentioned possible cooperation in electric vehicles and green energy, with efforts to encourage Singaporean investors to explore business opportunities in Aceh.
