The Embassy launched a series of sports and cultural events at the Indonesian School in Singapore to mark the country’s 80th Independence Day
As part of the celebrations for the 80th Anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence, the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Singapore attended the opening of community games and competitions held at the Indonesian School in Singapore (SIS). The event marked the beginning of a series of festivities aimed at fostering national pride and strengthening solidarity among Indonesians living in Singapore.

The lively occasion was attended by Embassy staff, event organisers, and enthusiastic members of the Indonesian diaspora, who came together in a warm and spirited atmosphere reflecting the values of gotong royong (mutual cooperation). A variety of sporting and community activities were launched, creating a space for families and individuals to connect and celebrate in unity.
In his remarks, the Ambassador expressed his appreciation for the successful organisation of the event and highlighted the importance of unity, sportsmanship, and patriotism as core values in nation-building—regardless of where Indonesians reside. The Ambassador’s message, “Satu Semangat, Satu Tujuan: Bersama Kita Kuat, Bersatu Kita Juara!” (One Spirit, One Goal: Together We Are Strong, United We Win!), captured the spirit of the celebration.
The event set the tone for the coming weeks of commemorative programmes leading up to 17 August, reinforcing a shared commitment to national identity and collective progress among the overseas Indonesian community.
