Pelita Air officially launched its inaugural international flight from Jakarta to Singapore on 18 August 2025, landing smoothly at Terminal 4 of Singapore’s Changi Airport. The historic moment was commemorated with a special ceremony attended by the Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore, alongside the Deputy Ambassador and other diplomatic staff.

This new route represents more than just an airline expansion — it symbolises Indonesia’s growing commitment to strengthening regional air connectivity and bolstering bilateral ties with Singapore.

Operating daily, the Jakarta–Singapore service offers seamless access to 17 cities across Indonesia through Pelita Air’s extensive domestic network. The strategic route is set to benefit both leisure travellers and business communities by enhancing accessibility to some of the archipelago’s top destinations, from cultural hubs to emerging economic centres.

“This marks a significant milestone not only for Pelita Air but also for Indonesia’s aviation sector,” said a representative from the airline. “By connecting two major ASEAN capitals, we are fostering people-to-people ties, tourism, trade, and long-term economic growth.”

Singapore, long regarded as a key gateway to Southeast Asia, now welcomes Pelita Air to its skies — further reinforcing regional integration under the ASEAN vision. The airline’s expansion is expected to contribute to sustainable economic progress while supporting Indonesia’s ambitions to become a leading aviation player in the region.

As the global travel landscape continues to rebound, Pelita Air’s international debut comes at an opportune time — offering more choices, better connections, and renewed momentum for cross-border collaboration.
