The Indonesian Embassy in Singapore showcased the nation’s vibrant culture and cuisine at the ASEAN Gala Night 2025, reinforcing regional unity and cultural diplomacy
The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Singapore participated in the ASEAN Gala Night 2025, held on 10 November 2025 at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel. The annual event, jointly organised by ASEAN missions in Singapore and hosted by the Embassy of Malaysia this year, served as a platform to strengthen friendship, solidarity, and camaraderie among ASEAN member states.
As part of its contribution, the Indonesian Embassy presented a warm and captivating Indonesian ambience through signature Nusantara dishes. Traditional favourites such as satay and Indonesian herbal beverages drew enthusiastic interest from guests, offering them an authentic taste of Indonesia’s culinary heritage.
Indonesia also showcased its cultural richness through two traditional dance performances: Tari Piring and Tari Nusantara. These performances mesmerised the audience and became among the highlights of the evening, reflecting Indonesia’s cultural diversity, artistic beauty, and spirit of harmony. The dancers’ dynamic movements and vibrant costumes left a lasting impression on attendees.
The event welcomed around 300 guests, including ambassadors, diplomats, ASEAN representatives, and members of the international community in Singapore. The Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Singapore, alongside Home Staff and Local Staff of the Embassy, attended the celebration, demonstrating Indonesia’s strong support for ASEAN’s “unity in diversity” and its ongoing commitment to regional cooperation through cultural engagement.
Indonesia’s participation in the ASEAN Gala Night 2025 not only promoted the nation’s culture and culinary traditions but also reaffirmed its dedication to enhancing its positive image on the global stage. Through creative and inclusive cultural diplomacy, Indonesia continues to convey its core values—hospitality, diversity, and the spirit of gotong royong—which underpin its relationships within ASEAN and beyond.
This event further strengthens Indonesia’s role as a driving force in cultural diplomacy and regional collaboration in Southeast Asia. It also emphasises the Indonesian Embassy’s commitment to supporting the country’s vision of building a more cohesive, inclusive, and harmonious ASEAN.
