KBRI Singapore marked two special occasions honouring the creativity, cultural pride and academic achievements of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) in Singapore
Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in Singapore recently participated in two meaningful events that highlighted the strength, creativity and accomplishments of Indonesian citizens and migrant workers (WNI/PMI) living in Singapore. These celebrations underscored the community’s resilience, cultural pride and dedication to self-development.
The first event, a Batik Fashion Show themed “Powerful & Stylish with Batik”, was held in collaboration with the VOICE community, FKMIS and KCBI. The showcase celebrated batik as a cultural heritage that continues to evolve across generations and borders. Participants modelled batik with confidence, expressing not only their creativity but also the cultural identity that Indonesian batik represents. The event also served as a platform to introduce and promote Indonesian batik to wider international audiences in Singapore.

The embassy also attended the graduation ceremony of AIDHA’s Business Plan and Personal Financial Programme. Representatives from Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower (MOM) were present, reflecting strong institutional support for skills development among migrant workers. KBRI Singapore expressed its pride and encouragement for Indonesian migrant workers who completed the programme, recognising their dedication to improving their financial knowledge and entrepreneurial skills.
A highlight of the ceremony was the achievement of Indonesian participants who secured the top three rankings out of 85 graduates. This accomplishment demonstrated the exceptional commitment and talent of Indonesian migrant workers, who continue to excel not only in their daily work but also in their personal and professional development.
KBRI Singapore reaffirmed that these achievements reflect the spirit of Indonesian migrant workers as diligent contributors, eager learners and agents of positive change within their communities.
