BTN Jakarta International Marathon (BTN JAKIM) 2026 is set to become one of the largest running events in Southeast Asia, bringing together more than 40,000 participants from Indonesia and abroad on 13–14 June 2026. Organised through a collaboration between PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BTN), the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta and Indonesia Muda Road Runner (IMRR), the event continues to reinforce Jakarta’s reputation as a world-class host city for international sporting events.

This year’s edition carries the prestigious World Athletics Elite Label status, reflecting its compliance with international standards in race management, athlete experience and event operations. BTN JAKIM 2026 will be conducted over two days, featuring four race categories: BSN 5K, EJ Sport 10K, Le Minerale Half Marathon and BTN Marathon. The expanded format aims to accommodate growing interest from both recreational runners and elite athletes.

Beyond the sporting competition, BTN JAKIM 2026 is expected to generate significant economic benefits for the capital. Organisers estimate that the event could contribute more than IDR 200 billion in economic activity, driven by increased visitor spending, accommodation demand, transportation services, food and beverage businesses, and local tourism activities. The event also supports Jakarta’s broader ambition to strengthen its position as a global city through sport tourism and international events.

Participants will experience some of Jakarta’s most recognisable landmarks throughout the race routes. The marathon showcases the city’s dynamic urban landscape, with routes connecting iconic locations including the National Monument (Monas) and the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) sports complex. Organisers have also maintained the event’s signature 4S principles — Sterile, Secure, Safety and Smooth — to ensure a safe, enjoyable and professionally managed race experience.

In the lead-up to race weekend, BTN JAKIM 2026 has also introduced a Race Expo and Race Pack Collection programme, creating additional opportunities for businesses, sponsors and local SMEs to engage with participants and visitors. With growing international participation and increasing economic impact, BTN JAKIM 2026 is expected to further strengthen Jakarta’s standing as a premier destination for international running events and active lifestyle tourism.
