Indonesia’s Defence Minister, Mr. Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, attended the Indonesia–Singapore Defence Alumni Launch Ceremony and the 61st Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) Day Reception at The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta on 14 July 2025. His participation followed a bilateral meeting with Singapore’s Minister for Defence, Mr. Chan Chun Sing, held earlier at Indonesia’s Ministry of Defence, underscoring the continued commitment of both countries to deepen defence cooperation.

The SAF Day Reception formed part of the commemoration of the 61st anniversary of the Singapore Armed Forces and reflected the close defence partnership between Indonesia and Singapore. The event commenced with the national anthems of Indonesia and Singapore, Indonesia Raya and Majulah Singapura, symbolising the friendship and mutual respect shared by the two neighbouring nations.

He emphasised that sustained cooperation and mutual trust remain essential in addressing evolving regional challenges and strengthening strategic ties.

The ceremony also featured a friendship toast, a group photograph, and a dinner reception, providing an opportunity for defence leaders, officials, and alumni to reinforce professional networks and promote continued collaboration between the two countries.
