His Excellency Hotmangaradja Pandjaitan, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Singapore, attended the 10th ASEAN Conference at Resorts World Convention Centre on 30–31 July 2026.

Under the theme “ASEAN’s Future in a Fractured World”, the conference brought together more than 1,000 government leaders and C-suite executives from 20 countries and economies. Participants examined geopolitical realignment, shifting global supply chains, artificial intelligence and the green economy transition.

The conference also highlighted closer Indonesia–Singapore business cooperation when the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) and Indonesian Business Council (IBC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

IBC Chief Executive Officer Sofyan Djalil and SBF Chief Executive Officer Kok Ping Soon signed the two-year agreement on 31 July. Singapore Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong, Ambassador Pandjaitan, IBC Chairman of the Board of Trustees Arsjad Rasjid and SBF Chairman Mark Lee witnessed the signing.

The MoU creates a framework for high-level policy dialogue, roundtable discussions and joint participation in the organisations’ flagship forums and platforms. It also supports bilateral trade and investment, economic policy discussions, knowledge exchange and networking between Indonesian and Singaporean business leaders.

The partnership also encourages Singaporean investment in Indonesia’s Special Economic Zones through joint initiatives. These initiatives give businesses from both countries more opportunities to connect, exchange expertise and explore potential investments.

As ASEAN businesses navigate a more fragmented global environment, stronger Indonesia–Singapore business engagement can help deepen economic ties and create new opportunities for cooperation across the region.
