During the inauguration of 30 auto gate units at the airport, Director General of Immigration, Bapak Silmy Karim, announced the integration of Face Recognition and Border Control Management (BCM) technology, revolutionising the immigration process.

The innovative combination of facial recognition and BCM technology enables travellers to swiftly navigate immigration checks, drastically reducing long queues and processing times at the airport.

To access the auto gate, travellers must possess an electronic passport and a valid visa, including electronic visas obtained through the https://molina.imigrasi.go.id/ portal or Visa on Arrival (VOA) purchased at the arrival terminal’s Molina Lite counter.

Foreign nationals from ASEAN countries with visa exemptions can also utilise the auto gate by registering through the https://molina.imigrasi.go.id/ portal.

Both electronic and non-electronic passport holders among Indonesian citizens can avail themselves of the auto gate facility, ensuring a seamless experience for all passengers.

Prior to entering the auto gate, passengers are required to remove any accessories obstructing facial recognition for clear identification.

The auto gate system swiftly verifies the authenticity of foreign travellers’ passports, cross-referencing them with their visa information or visa-free status to ensure compliance with immigration regulations.

Furthermore, the Directorate General of Immigration emphasises state security by integrating the auto gate system with Interpol data to prevent entry of individuals involved in criminal activities.

The installation of 30 auto gate units at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport marks the initial phase of a larger plan to deploy 80 auto gate units, streamlining immigration procedures and enhancing passenger experience at one of Indonesia’s busiest airports.
