
Secretary General of Indonesia’s Defence Ministry paid a courtesy visit to Singapore’s Defence Minister, underscoring bilateral commitment to regional stability
Lieutenant General TNI Tri Budi Utomo, Secretary General of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Indonesia, paid a courtesy visit to Singapore’s Minister for Defence, H.E. Mr Chan Chun Sing, at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) headquarters in Singapore on Tuesday, 8 July 2025. The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of both nations to enhancing bilateral defence cooperation and advancing inclusive, respectful strategic partnerships to support regional stability.

The visit formed part of Lt Gen Tri Budi Utomo’s introductory tour to Singapore from 6–8 July 2025, which also marked his role as Head of the Indonesian Delegation at the 2nd Indonesia–Singapore Defence Cooperation Committee (DCC) Forum. The forum took place at the Pan Pacific Marina Bay Hotel, attended by senior officials including Singapore’s Permanent Secretary (Defence), Mr Chan Heng Kee.
The DCC forum focused on reviewing the progress of the Defence Cooperation Agreement (DCA) implementation and exploring new avenues for collaboration. Discussions included the planned launch of coordinated joint air patrols and concluded with a mutual agreement to hold the next DCC meeting in Jakarta in 2026, further solidifying defence ties between the two countries.
Concluding his official programme, the Indonesian Secretary General visited SAFTI City and the Counter-Terrorism Information Facility (CTIF) at Changi Naval Base. At SAFTI City, a state-of-the-art urban training complex, he observed the integration of advanced simulation technologies used by the Singapore Armed Forces. At CTIF, the focus was on strengthening multilateral cooperation in addressing global terrorism threats.
