Indonesia’s Minister of Trade, Mr. Zulkifli Hasan, met with key stakeholders in Singapore to enhance global cooperation and boost Indonesia’s cocoa industry
INDONESIA’S Minister of Trade, Mr. Zulkifli Hasan, held a meeting with the Chairman of the Cocoa Association of Asia (CAA), Mr. Elie Fouché, on Thursday, September 12th, 2024, in Singapore. The meeting, part of the International Cocoa Conference 2024, provided an opportunity for both sides to exchange ideas and share knowledge to bring positive developments to the global cocoa sector.
Minister Zulkifli reiterated Indonesia’s openness to collaborating with all relevant stakeholders. This initiative aims to restore Indonesia’s position as a leading global player in cocoa production and exports while addressing the challenges faced by the industry. The discussions highlighted Indonesia’s commitment to improving the global cocoa market through strengthened partnerships.
Following the meeting, Mr. Zulkifli officiated the opening of the “Cocoa Village” exhibition at the conference, showcasing various cocoa products and innovations. He engaged with Indonesian cocoa farmers and emphasised the importance of their contributions to the success of the event.
The Minister expressed his gratitude to the farmers, business owners, and stakeholders involved in the cocoa sector, emphasising that the series of events during the conference would play a crucial role in enhancing the welfare of cocoa farmers and strengthening Indonesia’s position in the global market.
