Defence Minister Prabowo Subianto advocated for diplomatic solutions to the world’s security challenges, highlighting the conflicts in Palestine and Ukraine
INDONESIAN Defence Minister, Prabowo Subianto, delivered an impactful speech during the Special Address session at the IISS Shangri-La Dialogue 2024 in Singapore on Saturday, 1st June 2024. He highlighted a number of important issues regarding global security, particularly the conflicts in Palestine and Ukraine, and underlined the value of national unity and diplomatic communication.
Minister Prabowo emphasised the urgency of addressing recent tragic events in Rafah, which claimed numerous innocent lives. He called for a comprehensive investigation into the humanitarian catastrophe and advocated steps to prevent similar incidents in the future. The Defence Minister stressed the necessity of diplomatic dialogue and national solidarity in resolving conflicts.
The Defence Minister reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to supporting ceasefire efforts for peace between Israel and Palestine. He further declared Indonesia’s readiness to provide humanitarian aid and deploy peacekeeping forces, including operating field hospitals in Gaza. Minister Prabowo’s speech underscored Indonesia’s dedication to promoting peace and stability in the region.
