Indonesian Navy Chief of Staff (Kasal) Admiral Dr Muhammad Ali was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal (Pingat Jasa Gemilang) by the Government of Singapore. The honour was conferred by Singapore’s Minister for Defence, Dr Ng Eng Hen, in a ceremony held at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF).

The Meritorious Service Medal is a prestigious accolade awarded to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication in their service. Admiral Ali was recognised for his significant contributions in strengthening naval ties and cooperation between the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) and the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN).

During the ceremony, Admiral Ali, accompanied by Chief of RSN Rear Admiral Sean Wat, expressed his gratitude for the recognition. He reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing collaboration between the two naval forces to ensure regional maritime security.

The event was attended by Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore Suryopratomo, Inspector General of the Navy Vice Admiral Hardiko, Navy Personnel Assistant Vice Admiral Rony Saleh, Indonesian Defence Attaché to Singapore Colonel Hendra Supriyadi, and Assistant Naval Attaché Colonel Novianto Danang.
