The leaders of PT Pertamina commended Pertamina International Shipping Asia Pacific (PIS AP) for its successful international expansion

PRESIDENT Commissioner of PT Pertamina, Mr. Simon Aloysius Manti, and CEO of PT Pertamina, Ms. Nicke Widyawati, expressed their appreciation for the past performance of Pertamina International Shipping Asia Pacific (PIS AP) during a visit to its office in Singapore. The visit took place on Friday, 5th July 2024, as part of their initiative to observe PIS’s role as Sub Holding Integrated Marine Logistics (SH IML).

According to Mr. Simon Aloysius Manti, who also served as an Independent Commissioner of Pertamina, PIS AP held a strategic position by operating subsidiaries in various regions, both domestically and internationally. Mr. Simon highlighted the significance of PIS AP’s operations as a virtual lifeline for Indonesia as a maritime nation. PIS AP, a subsidiary of PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS), achieved a profit of USD 76 million in the fiscal year 2023, serving over 30 international clients from various countries and business models.

PIS AP reported a revenue of US$569 million in 2023, with a Compound Annual Growth rate (CAGR) of 106 percent over the period from 2019 to 2023. The company recorded an increase in third-party revenue outside the Pertamina Group by more than 30 percent, demonstrating the effectiveness of PIS’s international expansion strategy. The visit by the Board of Commissioners was part of Pertamina’s strategic plan to enhance the global operations of its subsidiaries.

Established in 2018, Pertamina International Shipping Pte Ltd (PIS AP) operated two business representative offices in the Asia Pacific (Singapore) and the Middle East (Dubai). The company is supported by senior management with global talent, market intelligence, and a fleet of 40 ships operating on more than 60 international routes. Meanwhile, Ms. Nicke Widyawati added that in recent years, PIS’s transformation steps have been successful with business development and non-captive market development.

PIS’s CEO, Mr. Yoki Firnandi, outlined the company’s innovation efforts in meeting the growing domestic energy demand. He noted that expanding globally was key to strengthening Pertamina Group’s presence and impact in the international market. PIS AP’s strategy of serving customers outside the Pertamina Group enhanced the company’s competitiveness. Mr. Yoki stressed the importance of increasing third-party cargo volume and expanding international offices to reach strategic maritime areas globally.
