Dr Ace Hasan Syadzily’s call on Minister Chan Chun Sing strengthened longstanding bilateral defence ties.
The Governor of Indonesia’s National Resilience Institute (LEMHANNAS), Dr Ace Hasan Syadzily, paid a courtesy call on Singapore’s Minister for Defence, Mr Chan Chun Sing, on 25 November 2025. The meeting reaffirmed the strong and enduring defence relationship shared by Singapore and Indonesia, built on decades of close cooperation and mutual trust.
During their discussion, Minister Chan and Governor Ace exchanged views on key regional developments and ongoing security challenges. Both sides also explored opportunities to deepen bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of capacity-building, strategic dialogue, and professional military exchanges. The meeting reflected the shared commitment of both countries to maintaining stability and strengthening defence collaboration in the region.
Governor Ace visited Singapore from 24 to 25 November 2025 as part of the 11th LEMHANNAS Distinguished Graduands’ Visit (DGV). Hosted annually by the Ministry of Defence and the Singapore Armed Forces, the programme provides the top LEMHANNAS graduands with insights into Singapore’s defence policies, institutions, and strategic perspectives. It also complements wider efforts to cultivate strong people-to-people ties between defence officials from both countries.
The Distinguished Graduands’ Visit is a longstanding pillar of Singapore–Indonesia defence engagement. Over the years, it has contributed significantly to increasing understanding, enhancing professional ties, and encouraging constructive collaboration between rising defence leaders from both nations.
Governor Ace’s visit further underscored the depth of the bilateral defence partnership. Singapore and Indonesia continue to enjoy mutually beneficial interactions across exercises, dialogues, and exchanges, forming a robust foundation for regional resilience and shared security.
