ON Sunday, October 20, 2024, Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming were officially inaugurated as the President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2024-2029 term. The inauguration ceremony took place at the Nusantara Building of the MPR/DPR/DPD complex in Jakarta during a plenary session of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR).

The inauguration was based on the General Elections Commission (KPU) Decree Number 504 of 2024, which confirmed Prabowo and Gibran as the elected President and Vice President. The session, presided over by MPR Chairman Ahmad Muzani, commenced at 10:00 AM with the singing of the national anthem, followed by a moment of silence.

During the session, both Prabowo and Gibran took their oaths, pledging to uphold the Constitution and serve Indonesia with integrity. “In the name of Allah, I swear that I will fulfil the duties of the President of the Republic of Indonesia to the best of my ability and with utmost fairness, firmly uphold the Constitution, and faithfully execute all laws and regulations, dedicating myself to the nation and the people.” stated Prabowo Subianto during his oath. Gibran Rakabuming echoed this sentiment, pledging the same commitment as Vice President.

After the oaths, they signed the official inauguration documents alongside MPR leaders, which were later handed to the President and Vice President by the MPR Chairman. The ceremony concluded with President Prabowo expressing his gratitude to foreign dignitaries, acknowledging their presence as a mark of respect during Indonesia’s significant constitutional moment.
