Indonesia’s tourism sector explored new partnerships to attract Singaporean tourists at the ASTINDO Sales Mission
The Indonesian Embassy in Singapore facilitated the “Astindo Sales Mission to Singapore,” organised by the Indonesian Travel Agent Association (ASTINDO), to boost tourism promotion efforts aimed at attracting more visitors from Singapore. This event brought together travel agents and tour operators from both Indonesia and Singapore to explore collaborative opportunities and promote diverse tourism packages highlighting regions across Indonesia, including Riau, North Sumatra, West Java, Central Java, North Sulawesi, Jambi, Yogyakarta, Southeast Sulawesi, and Banten.
The event saw participation from ASTINDO Chairperson Pauline Suharno, who appreciated the Indonesian Embassy’s support for the initiative. Suharno emphasised that ASTINDO, established on 10 November 1999, continues to advance and safeguard the interests of travel agents throughout Indonesia. The association’s objective is to build a solid platform for Indonesian travel agents to expand their reach and grow their businesses.
Sulistijo Djati Ismojo, Charge d’Affaires of the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore, officially opened the sales mission, encouraging travel agents and tour operators from both nations to network, exchange insights, and explore collaborative opportunities to boost Indonesian tourism from Singapore.
The ASTINDO Sales Mission coincided with ITB Asia, Asia’s largest international travel and tourism exhibition, which will be held at Sands Expo and Convention Centre from October 23 to 25, 2024. The mission aimed to capitalise on the presence of international travel agents and tour operators at ITB Asia, providing an ideal platform to promote Indonesian tourism to a wider audience.
