Students from Jakarta’s High School 8 earned the Gold Medal and Grand Prize at the AIGC-Singapore 2024 Global Competition with their innovative solution to batik industry wastewater.
H.E. Suryo Pratomo, the Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore, recently met with students from High School 8 Jakarta to honor their exceptional achievement at the AIGC-Singapore 2024 Global Competition. This international event, held in Singapore, showcased the brightest young minds tackling real-world challenges through science and innovation.
The students from High School 8 Jakarta impressed the panel of judges with their groundbreaking project—a capsule designed to clean wastewater from batik industries. Their innovative formula, using only 3 grams of the capsule to purify 100 liters of wastewater, offers a practical and environmentally friendly solution to a pressing industrial problem. Their extraordinary work earned them the competition’s Gold Medal and the prestigious Grand Prize.
During the meeting, Ambassador Suryo Pratomo congratulated the students for their dedication, creativity, and contribution to addressing environmental issues. He emphasized the significance of supporting young talents with proper mentorship and opportunities to express their potential. “Indonesia is home to many talented youths, and with the right guidance, they can achieve remarkable things,” he stated.
