Representatives from 23 Indonesian organisations in Singapore gathered for the FKMIS Annual Congress 2025, reaffirming their commitment to unity and collaboration
The Forum Komunikasi Masyarakat Indonesia di Singapura (FKMIS) successfully held its Annual General Congress on Sunday, 18 May 2025. The event took place at the Nusantara Room of the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore and was attended by representatives from 23 Indonesian community organisations. These organisations have been actively supporting over 200,000 Indonesian nationals living and working in Singapore.

The congress was officially opened by the Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore, Suryo Pratomo, who delivered a warm address and commended the event as an important platform for strengthening solidarity and networks among Indonesian organisations abroad. In his speech, he emphasised the importance of sustained collaboration within diaspora communities to collectively address global challenges and respond to the real needs of Indonesians overseas.
Ambassador Suryo Pratomo highlighted that FKMIS serves not just as a communication forum, but as a unifying space for diverse organisations and individuals. He described it as a “big house” that embodies collective care and the spirit of gotong royong (mutual cooperation), which is a core value of Indonesian society.

One of the key moments of the congress was the inauguration of the FKMIS 2025 board members. In a solemn ceremony, the Ambassador pinned badges on the newly appointed committee members, symbolising their mandate and responsibility to lead the organisation forward. This act was a gesture of trust and a reaffirmation of the board’s role as representatives of the collective spirit of the Indonesian community in Singapore.
With a renewed focus on synergy and collaboration, FKMIS is expected to continue growing as a positive social force, making meaningful contributions to the Indonesian community both abroad and at home.
