The Chancellor of Hasanuddin University, Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamaluddin Jompa MSc, officially welcomed inbound students from the National University of Singapore (NUS) for a multidisciplinary exchange programME

HASANUDDIN University Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamaluddin Jompa MSc, officially received inbound NUS students to the Indonesian university’s Faculty of Forestry on 2nd June 2024. Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamaluddin Jompa MSc emphasised the significance of the student exchange collaboration, highlighting its multidisciplinary nature.

The Professor praised the Faculty of Forestry for its continuous efforts in organising engaging activities that attract international participation.

“I hope that activities like this can continue because this is one way to support the achievement of the IKU for inbound students while also supporting the achievement of Unhas World Class University (WCU),” explained Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamaluddin Jompa MSc.

Meanwhile, the Lecturer of Global Experience (GEx) Course Sulawesi, Dr. Ryan Tans, expressed his appreciation to the Chancellor of Hasanuddin University, Dean, and the Forest and Society Research Group Team of the Hasanuddin University Faculty of Forestry who had welcomed their arrival.

He mentioned that there were 11 people from the National University of Singapore who arrived in Makassar. They consist of one supervising lecturer, one staff, one student assistant, and eight students from various disciplines, scheduled to participate in the GEx Sulawesi 2024.

“We are very excited about this collaboration, where Hasanuddin University students will participate in the Asian Undergraduate Singapore (AUS) 2024 organised by NUS in Singapore on 1-13 July 2024, while our students will participate in the GEx Sulawesi 2024,” said Dr Ryan Tans. 

The GEx Course Sulawesi 2024 is a collaboration between the National University of Singapore and the Faculty of Forestry, Hasanuddin University through the Forest and Society Research Group which will be held in several places in South Sulawesi, including Maros Regency, Toraja Regency, and Bulukumba Regency.

This activity aims to strengthen collaboration between universities in growth and innovation in the field of education. This time, GEx Sulawesi will explore cultural, social, and environmental changes related to rapid economic development in Sulawesi.
