Indonesia explores LNG floating power collaboration with Karpowership to enhance regional energy security.
The Ambassador of Indonesia to Singapore, accompanied by the Economic Affairs Coordinator of the Embassy of Indonesia in Singapore, met with the management of Karpowership Asia Company Pte Ltd to discuss developments in floating power generation technologies. The meeting focused on exploring collaboration in LNG-based powership solutions to support regional energy needs.
The discussion was also attended by the Ambassador to ASEAN, reflecting a multilateral approach to energy cooperation. Participants exchanged views on the application of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in floating power plants, highlighting its potential to enhance energy security and improve electricity efficiency.
The LNG-to-power concept was identified as a flexible and scalable solution for meeting growing energy demand, particularly in areas requiring rapid deployment of infrastructure. Both sides noted the importance of innovation and cross-border collaboration in advancing sustainable energy systems.
The meeting underscored efforts to strengthen cooperation between Indonesia, Singapore, and international partners in developing forward-looking energy infrastructure.
