Christmas Celebration 2024 with the Indonesian Diaspora in Singapore was held joyfully at the Nusantara Hall, Embassy of Indonesia in Singapore.

On January 11, 2025, the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore (KBRI) collaborated with Masyarakat Kristiani Indonesia di Singapura (MKIS) to host a joyful Christmas and New Year (Nataru) celebration. The event, held in the Nusantara Hall, brought together more than 500 members of the Indonesian diaspora living in Singapore.

The celebration consisted of two main sessions. The first was a solemn worship service, providing attendees with a moment of spiritual reflection and gratitude. This was followed by a lively celebration program that highlighted the warmth and camaraderie of the Indonesian community in Singapore.

Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore, H.E. Suryo Pratomo attended the event and delivered an inspiring message during the celebration. He expressed his hopes that the gathering would serve as a source of renewed energy and motivation for Indonesians in Singapore to continue fostering unity, collaboration, and mutual support. “May this celebration bring us closer together, inspiring us to embrace the New Year with optimism and hope,” he remarked.

The celebratory atmosphere was further enriched by a variety of cultural performances presented by members of the Indonesian diaspora. These performances showcased Indonesia’s rich and diverse cultural heritage, ranging from traditional dances to contemporary musical acts. The event emphasized the community’s pride in their roots while celebrating the festive season.

Attendees shared moments of joy, laughter, and reflection, embodying the spirit of togetherness that is deeply valued by Indonesians. The event served as a reminder of the importance of maintaining cultural identity and strengthening bonds, even while living abroad.

The Indonesian Embassy extended its gratitude to the community for their enthusiastic participation and to MKIS for their role in organizing the event. It also highlighted the Embassy’s ongoing commitment to supporting initiatives that strengthen ties among Indonesians in Singapore.

As the evening came to a close, attendees exchanged heartfelt wishes for a peaceful and prosperous New Year. The celebration concluded with a shared sentiment of gratitude and hope for the future.

“May the peace of Christmas illuminate every step we take, and may the New Year bring new dreams and aspirations. Together, let us look forward to a future filled with gratitude, joy, and collaboration,” said Ambassador Pratomo.
