The Indonesian Embassy in Singapore hosted a captivating familiarisation trip to Bintan, showcasing the island’s natural beauty and cultural heritage
The Indonesian Embassy in Singapore recently organised a familiarisation trip to Bintan Island, Riau Archipelago, bringing along popular Singaporean influencers @sakura_bear, @cherrlyn, @foodilicious_diva, and @serenefoodology. The trip, designed to promote Bintan’s tourism potential, highlighted the island’s unique attractions and hospitality.
On the first day, the group visited the stunning Busung Desert and the picturesque Blue Lake, both celebrated for their Instagram-worthy landscapes. Located on Bintan Island, these attractions combine the charm of desert serenity with the vibrant allure of the lake’s blue waters. The influencers shared their awe of the scenery, capturing moments that blended adventure with tranquillity.
The itinerary also included an excursion to White Sands Island, also known as Pulau Beralas Pasir. Just a short boat ride from Trikora Beach, this island offered activities such as snorkelling and kayaking. Marine life, including clownfish, sea urchins, and starfish, thrived in the crystal-clear waters, providing an unforgettable experience of Bintan’s natural wonders.
A highlight of the trip was a visit to the Doulos Phos Ship Hotel, situated in Teluk Sebong. Originally an ocean liner and cruise ship launched in 1914, the vessel, now a hotel, provided a glimpse into maritime history. The influencers explored the ship’s fascinating past, with its name, “Servant of Light,” reflecting its legacy. The Doulos Phos Ship Hotel, converted in 2019, remains a testament to Bintan’s ability to combine heritage and tourism.
