“To all the people of India, may prosperity and success always be with India,” President Prabowo stated during the meeting.

As the chief guest of India’s Republic Day ceremony scheduled for Sunday, January 26, 2025, President Prabowo expressed gratitude for the invitation. He also highlighted the symbolic and historic participation of 352 Indonesian military personnel, who will join the Republic Day parade in a defile and marching band performance.

“This is the first time the Indonesian military contingent will take part in a military parade outside of Indonesia. So once again, thank you very much for the great honor extended to us,” he remarked.

President Prabowo reflected on the enduring friendship between Indonesia and India, emphasizing India’s critical support during Indonesia’s struggle for independence. He noted how Indian leaders provided financial and medical aid, and he expressed Indonesia’s deep appreciation for the land donation that now houses the Indonesian Embassy in New Delhi.
