Indonesian Minister Sandiaga Uno participated in the World Cities Summit 2024 in Singapore, discussed innovative urban solutions and sustainable practices.
On 4th June 2024, Indonesian Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Mr Sandiaga Uno, honoured an invitation from Singapore to deliver a keynote address and inaugurate a forum themed “How do we create human-centric smart cities.” The forum, which serves as a platform for exploring innovative urban solutions and sustainable practices, is part of The World Cities Summit (WCS) 2024.
Minister Sandiaga Uno emphasised Indonesia’s commitment to developing smart cities that not only address current urban challenges, but also ensure a high quality of life for future generations. His keynote address highlighted various strategies and initiatives being implemented by Indonesia to achieve these goals.
Accompanied by the Republic of Indonesia’s Ambassador to Singapore, H.E. Suryo Pratomo, Minister Uno engaged in various meetings including discussions with Singapore’s Minister for National Development, Desmond Lee; and the Second Minister for Manpower and Minister for Trade and Industry, Dr. Tan See Leng. Bilateral discussions focused on strengthening cooperation related to the development of IKN Nusantara, Indonesian workforce access in the hospitality and F&B sectors, as well as enhancing connectivity between Indonesia and Singapore.
