Singapore’s Peregrine and Indonesia’s Sinar Primera are expanding cold chain infrastructure across Greater Jakarta.
Singapore-based Peregrine Cold Logistics (PCL) has entered Indonesia through a joint venture with Indonesia-based Sinar Primera to develop and acquire tier-one cold storage assets, expanding Peregrine’s cold chain network in Southeast Asia.
The partnership is expected to provide approximately 35,000 square metres of capacity across Greater Jakarta through two projects: the acquisition of an existing Sinar Primera-owned facility in Pluit, North Jakarta, and the development of a new greenfield facility in Narogong.
The expansion comes as demand for temperature-controlled infrastructure grows in Indonesia, driven by rising incomes, urbanisation and increasingly sophisticated food and retail sectors. Peregrine said Indonesia is expected to play an important role in its regional network, connecting food producers, importers and exporters, FMCG companies and quick-service restaurant chains.
The Pluit facility will serve customers across northern and western Jakarta, while the new Narogong facility will feature semi-automated freezer and chiller capacity meeting global standards and anchor a hub-and-spoke model. Together, the facilities are intended to provide the infrastructure, systems and processes required by global brands and leading local food companies.
The Indonesian expansion builds on Peregrine’s existing cold chain platform in the Philippines and its broader network across ASEAN and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The joint venture will combine Sinar Primera’s local market development knowledge, land access and execution capabilities with Peregrine’s international cold chain network and operational expertise.

Mr. Hong Kah Jin, Head of Sinar Primera Group, said the partnership would combine Peregrine’s cold chain expertise and international client base with Sinar Primera’s local market capabilities.

The partnership is expected to strengthen Indonesia’s temperature-controlled logistics infrastructure, supporting food safety, food security and more reliable supply chains as demand for modern cold storage continues to grow.
