PT Pertamina highlights commitment to energy transition with green fuel and battery-swapping charging station demonstration at IIMS.
State oil and gas company PT Pertamina took centre stage at the 2024 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS), showcasing innovative green energy solutions to support the nation’s energy transition program. The company’s participation underscores its dedication to promoting sustainable energy practices.
Bapak Fadjar Djoko Santoso, Vice President of Corporate Communications at Pertamina, emphasised the company’s ongoing commitment to the energy transition, particularly through the adoption of gas fuel. Pertamina’s booth at the IIMS featured a thematic display focused on both environmental sustainability and performance.
Pak Santoso elaborated that Pertamina exhibited taxi cars fuelled by gas as part of its efforts to facilitate the transition to cleaner energy. Additionally, the company presented a concept for a battery-swapping charging station, aligning with its broader energy transition initiatives.
In addition to showcasing green energy solutions, Pertamina also highlighted its range of high-quality products utilising fossil fuels, which contribute to energy security. The company aims to foster the development of renewable energy sources while actively participating in the green industry.

President Joko Widodo officially inaugurated the IIMS 2024 at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo), emphasising the significance of electric-powered vehicles for the future of the Indonesian automotive industry. He underscored the country’s abundant supply of production raw materials, such as nickel, positioning it favourably for embracing electric vehicle technology.
