The IPEF 2024 meetings in Singapore united Indonesian officials and other IPEF’s 13 partner countries to discuss collaborative approaches to addressing climate change through clean energy initiatives and investments.
The IPEF Clean Economy Investor Forum (CEIF) and the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF) 2024 Ministerial Meetings were held in Singapore. The Indonesian government was officially invited to the IPEF CHIEF Ministerial Welcoming Dinner on Wednesday, 5th June, at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre in Singapore, together with 13 other IPEF partner states.
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto led the Indonesian government delegation at the IPEF sessions. He attended the dinner hosted by Singaporean President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and formally welcomed by Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong.
In hir opening remarks for the evening, DPM Gan Kim Yong emphasised how important stakeholder cooperation is to IPEF’s success. With more than 60 clean energy project proposals and 300 investors from different partner nations taking part in the IPEF CEIF program, it was apparent that IPEF partners are committed to collaborating in addressing global issues like climate change.
Echoing DPM Gan Kim Yong’s statement, President Tharman stressed that IPEF CEIF is a vital catalyst for global efforts toward Net Zero Emission as well as an efficient forum for collaboration. By gathering various clean energy initiatives and investments, IPEF CEIF strategically mitigates climate change impacts and accelerates the transition to a greener and more sustainable economy.
International cooperation plays an important role in attracting investments-particularly in sustainable projects and developments, facilitating access to capital, risk mitigation, market expansion, policy alignment, and mutual benefits. The IPEF Clean Economy Investor Forum serves as a unique platform that brings together policymakers, investors, and project developers from IPEF’s 14 member countries,
Attending the dinner were Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore H.E Suryo Pratomo, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Mr Susiwijono Moegiarso, and Director-General of New and Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Ms Eniya Listiani Dewi.
