The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Singapore joined International Migrants Day 2025, reaffirming its support for migrant workers and strengthening cooperation with Singapore and other stakeholders
The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Singapore participated in the International Migrants Day (IMD) 2025 celebration organised by Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower on 14 December 2025. The event was officially opened by Singapore’s Minister for Manpower, Mr Tan See Leng, and was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Singapore, Mr Suryo Pratomo.
IMD 2025 was attended by approximately 10,000 migrant workers from various countries, including Indonesia, China, Myanmar, India, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Thailand, Bangladesh, and Vietnam. The celebration served as a platform to recognise the contributions of migrant workers while strengthening cooperation among governments, stakeholders, and migrant worker communities.

This year’s theme highlighted how art, food, and music can serve as bridges connecting people from diverse cultural backgrounds. Indonesia contributed a traditional dance performance accompanied by the song Tabola Bale, which was warmly received by visitors. The performance created a lively and interactive atmosphere, with audiences joining in and reflecting the spirit of cultural inclusivity.

Under the theme “Joining Hands, Building Bonds”, IMD 2025 reaffirmed the strong commitment of the Singapore Government and its partners to enhancing the protection, welfare, and harmonious relations of migrant workers. KBRI Singapore’s participation underscored its continued support for Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) in Singapore and its role in strengthening bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and Singapore in the labour and socio-cultural sectors.
