The Indonesian delegation participated in the 3rd Regional Consultation Workshop on the Development of the ASEAN Work Plan on Education 2026–2030, held in Singapore on 3–4 February 2026. The workshop served as a key platform for ASEAN Member States to deliberate on strategic priorities and policy directions that will guide regional cooperation in education over the next five years.

The delegation comprised representatives from the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. The delegation was accompanied by the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Singapore, which facilitated Indonesia’s engagement throughout the consultation process.

During the workshop, participating countries reviewed and discussed key strategic issues, programmes, and implementation frameworks to be incorporated into the ASEAN Work Plan on Education 2026–2030. Indonesia actively contributed perspectives and inputs aimed at strengthening regional collaboration, inclusivity, and sustainability in education across ASEAN.

The discussions were conducted in alignment with the policy directions and priorities outlined in the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) Strategic Plan. Emphasis was placed on ensuring that the future work plan supports human capital development, educational resilience, and equitable access to quality education within the region.

Indonesia’s participation in the consultation reflects its continued commitment to supporting ASEAN’s collective efforts in advancing education as a cornerstone of regional development and socio-cultural integration. The outcomes of the workshop are expected to inform the finalisation of the ASEAN Work Plan on Education 2026–2030.
