Singapore Consulate-General in Batam hosts students and lecturers from Universitas Maritim Raja Ali Haji, fostering discussions on Singapore-Indonesia relations.

On 30 August, the Singapore Consulate-General in Batam played host to students and lecturers from Universitas Maritim Raja Ali Haji’s (UMRAH) International Relations Study Programme. This warm reception marked the second visit from UMRAH, following their initial visit in November of the previous year.

The engaging discussions centered on the robust and multifaceted relations between Singapore and Indonesia, with a particular focus on the deep connections within the Riau Islands (KEPRI) province, the very region most of the visiting students call home. Throughout the event, the Consulate-General had the privilege of hearing the perspectives of these aspiring young minds, many of whom aspire to pursue careers in the civil service and international non-governmental organizations.

As we bid adieu to our guests from UMRAH, we extend our best wishes for their future endeavors, hoping they will realize their dreams in their chosen fields. The Singapore Consulate-General looks forward to future meetings and collaborations that will further strengthen the bonds between Singapore and Indonesia.
