The prestigious global event, hosted at the OCBC Aquatic Centre from 26 July to 22 August 2025, marks a historic milestone as the first time the championship is held in Southeast Asia.

The World Aquatics Masters Championships is a biennial international competition bringing together senior and veteran athletes from across the globe to compete in various aquatic disciplines—including pool swimming, open water swimming, diving, and water polo. This year’s edition has attracted thousands of participants from over 100 countries, making it one of the largest events on the international sporting calendar.
Indonesia’s delegation comprises 34 individuals, including athletes, coaches, and officials, representing the nation across multiple events. Speaking at the Embassy, Ambassador Suryo Pratomo expressed deep appreciation for the efforts and commitment of the entire contingent. “Your participation in this prestigious international event is a true testament to Indonesia’s growing contribution to aquatic sports, and a reflection of the camaraderie and healthy competition that unite nations through sport,” he said.
The Ambassador also highlighted the strategic importance of Indonesia’s involvement in the championships—not only as a platform for performance and achievement but also as an avenue for cross-cultural exchange and capacity building at the global level. The Indonesian contingent’s presence in Singapore stands as a powerful example of the country’s ongoing commitment to excellence, resilience, and meaningful international engagement through sport.
