Indonesia’s Deputy Trade Minister, Mr. Jerry Sambuaga, held a bilateral discussion with Singapore’s Trade Minister, Mr. Gan Kim Yong, on the sidelines of the 56th ASEAN Economic Ministers Meeting in Vientiane, Laos, on 17th September 2024
INDONESIA’S Deputy Minister of Trade, Mr. Jerry Sambuaga, met with Singapore’s Minister for Trade and Industry, Mr. Gan Kim Yong, on 17th September 2024, in Vientiane, Laos. The meeting occurred alongside the 56th ASEAN Economic Ministers Meeting.
Both leaders discussed key initiatives, including the Digital Economy Framework Agreement (DEFA), the Annual Ministry Dialogue (AMD) between Indonesia and Singapore, and the progress of the Indonesia-Singapore working group.
These topics have been critical to fostering closer bilateral ties between Indonesia and Singapore. The Indonesian delegation at the meeting included the Director for ASEAN Economic Cooperation, Adhyanti Sardanarini Wirajuda, as well as Trade Attachés from Hanoi, Addy Perdana Soemantry and Trade Attachés from Bangkok, Rafika Arfani.
This bilateral engagement is a significant step in strengthening economic cooperation and aligning future initiatives between the two nations.
