Bank Indonesia, Indonesia’s central bank, recorded Rp2.4 trillion in investment commitments through 12 business commitments at the East Java Investment Forum (EJIF) 2026 in Surabaya, East Java. Held in October 2026, the event featured 28 Investment Project Ready to Offer (IPRO) proposals with a combined potential value of Rp73.7 trillion, covering manufacturing, tourism, infrastructure and agro-industry.
Mr. Ibrahim, Executive Director and Head of the Bank Indonesia Representative Office for East Java Province, said the province’s investment momentum required continued synergy and collaboration. “East Java’s investment momentum needs to continue to be supported through synergy and collaboration because investment not only supports economic growth, but also has an impact on employment and poverty reduction,” Mr. Ibrahim said.
He added that favourable conditions also depended on fiscal sustainability, financial system stability and the payment system as foundations for sustainable economic growth.
East Java Deputy Governor Mr. Emil Elestianto Dardak said the East Java Provincial Government, together with regency and municipal governments, continued to support a conducive business climate. Mr. Dardak identified manufacturing and agriculture as foundational sectors and sources of attraction for prospective investors.
The gathering involved business representatives, prospective investors, project owners, local governments and financial institutions. Participants included investors from the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Australia, China, Japan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Singapore and Malaysia.
Alongside the IPRO portfolio, the programme offered seven industrial estates and special economic zones, 80 potential assets owned by local governments, as well as several proposals from the banking sector.
Panel discussions featured Danantara Indonesia, Indonesia’s investment management agency, the Ministry of Investment and Downstream Industry/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), and the East Java Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Discussions examined investment prospects and government support for businesses in the province.
