THE INDONESIAN EMBASSY IN SINGAPORE COLLABORATED WITH THE STATE UNIVERSITY OF MALANG FOR THE 95TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE YOUTH PLEDGE DAY CELEBRATIONS AT THE SINGAPORE INDONESIA SCHOOL
THE Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Singapore commemorated the 95th Anniversary of Youth Pledge Day (Hari Sumpah Pemuda) with a grand showcase of music, dance, drama, and the traditional martial art form of Pencak Silat. The event, held in collaboration with the State University of Malang, East Java, took place at the Indonesian School in Singapore on October 28, 2023.
The festivities commence with the solemn reading of the Youth Pledge by two students, followed by cultural performances. Notably, the event featured the participation of Singaporean residents playing Javanese gamelan and dance performances. Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore, H.E. Suryo Pratomo, underlined the unifying power of Indonesia’s diverse cultures, bound together by the Indonesian language. The event, which aimed to promote cultural diplomacy, provided a platform for the exchange of traditional Indonesian arts.
