Indonesian Ambassador H.E. Suryo pratomo and the President of the Singapore Chinese Chambers of Commerce meet ahead of upcoming investment mission and to strengthen bilateral economic ties.
INDONESIAN Ambassador to Singapore, H.E. Suryo Pratomo, convened a pivotal meeting with the President of the Singapore Chinese Chambers of Commerce (SCCCI), Mr. Kho Choon Keng, at the Indonesian Embassy on 28th June 2024. The ambassador was accompanied by the Director of the Indonesia Investment Promotion Center (IIPC) Singapore, Mr. Andria Buchara, and the Economic Function team of the Embassy. The meeting aimed to strategize ahead of an upcoming investment mission scheduled for 14th to 17th July 2024, where a delegation of Singaporean business leaders will visit Indonesia. The delegation plans to engage in high-level discussions with Indonesian government officials, local companies, and various chambers of commerce.
Singapore, retaining its status as Indonesia’s largest investor, continues to play a significant role in shaping the region’s economic landscape. The collaboration between Singaporean enterprises and global firms, including those from China, underscores the increasing interest in investing and expanding operations within Indonesia’s dynamic market.
The initiative seeks to attract sustainable investments by disseminating accurate and comprehensive information about Indonesia’s economic landscape. These efforts are expected to catalyse new business deals and investment decisions, leveraging Indonesia’s robust political stability and youthful demographic, which forms a significant base of both workforce and consumer markets. Moreover, the growth of tier 2 and tier 3 cities is anticipated to emerge as pivotal centres of economic growth, complementing the established urban hubs.
