Indonesia’s Deputy Finance Minister met with Ambassador Suryo Pratomo to discuss fiscal diplomacy, customs cooperation, and regional economic engagement
As part of his working visit to Singapore, Indonesia’s Deputy Minister of Finance, Anggito Abimanyu, held a meeting with Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore, Suryo Pratomo, on 24 April 2025 at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Singapore.
The cordial and productive discussion served as a platform for the exchange of strategic information and an in-depth dialogue on key areas of cooperation in economic and customs matters between the two neighbouring countries.
The Deputy Minister also shared upcoming plans, including his scheduled academic engagement at the ISEAS–Yusof Ishak Institute on 25 April, and bilateral meetings with Singapore Customs and the Singapore Police Coast Guard. These meetings aimed to enhance cross-border goods monitoring and strengthen collaborative enforcement of customs regulations.
Ambassador Pratomo reaffirmed the embassy’s full support for the cooperation agenda presented by the Ministry of Finance, highlighting the importance of inter-agency synergy in advancing bilateral ties. He acknowledged Indonesia’s strong commitment to expanding fiscal diplomacy and strengthening strategic economic partnerships, especially with key regional partners like Singapore.
Deputy Minister Anggito expressed his appreciation for the embassy’s role in facilitating his visit and in reinforcing inter-institutional coordination abroad, particularly in areas related to economic diplomacy and safeguarding Indonesia’s fiscal interests in the region.
During his time in Singapore, he participated as a speaker at a forum hosted by ISEAS–Yusof Ishak Institute on the topic “Navigating Global Economic Uncertainties due to Trade War,” and held meetings with Singapore Customs and the Singapore Police Coast Guard to discuss joint monitoring of Indonesia–Singapore goods traffic.
