The Indonesian in Singapore Institute of Management (INSIM) presented INSIGHT 2026: KALYARA, its annual musical production, on 30–31 January 2026 at the Performing Arts Theatre, Singapore Institute of Management (SIM).

Set in colonial Batavia, KALYARA tells the story of two sibling doctors, Endra and Wirano, who dedicate their lives to caring for the people while navigating the growing pressures of power, authority, and the prevailing discourse of progress. As their journeys unfold, differing choices lead the brothers down opposing paths, testing their convictions and sense of responsibility.

Through its narrative, the production explores the delicate balance between idealism and compromise, highlighting the fine line between devotion, power, and loyalty. The musical invites audiences to reflect on moral dilemmas faced by individuals operating within complex social and political structures.

The production was fully created and staged by the INSIGHT team, reflecting months of collaborative effort across performance, music, and stagecraft. The event served as a platform for Indonesian students to express their artistic talents while engaging with historical and ethical themes.
