ON Monday, July 29th, 2024, in a business profile puboished by Antara news agency, a leading member of the Indonesian travel trade, the President Director of PT Golden Rama, Mr. Madu Sudono, shared insights about the favored destinations of international tourists visiting Indonesia. The discussion highlighted that Bali, Raja Ampat, and Labuan Bajo in East Indonesia are consistently the top choices for vacationers from abroad.

Mr. Madu Sudono explained that data from their travel agency indicated that these destinations are popular due to their stunning natural beauty. Tourists are particularly drawn to the scenic landscapes and unique experiences offered in these regions. East Indonesia, renowned for its picturesque environments, continues to attract significant interest.

Not only that, Eastern Indonesia also has the most beautiful diving locations in the world, especially in Raja Ampat.

“The tourism potential in Eastern Indonesia is extraordinary, the most beautiful diving spots in the world are in Eastern Indonesia,” said Madu, imitating an expression he had heard from foreign tourists.

Madu also mentioned that most tourists visiting these destinations come from Asian countries such as Vietnam and Singapore. This regional interest underscores the broad appeal of East Indonesia’s tourist attractions across neighboring countries.

The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) has set ambitious targets for tourism in 2024, aiming for 1.2 to 1.5 billion domestic visits and 17 million international visits. Kemenparekraf has also designated five super-priority destinations, including Borobudur Temple, Mandalika, Lake Toba, Likupang, and Labuan Bajo, to further boost tourism.
