Singapore, 25 July 2025 — Professor Dr Arif Satria, Rector of the Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), participated in the international workshop “Food Supply Chain and Resilience” hosted by the National University of Singapore (NUS) from 23 to 25 July 2025. The event served as a platform for scholars, policymakers, and researchers to address global food supply challenges amid climate change, geopolitical shifts, and technological disruptions.

Accompanying Professor Satria were Retna Widayawati, Chairperson of Agrianita IPB, and Professor Dr Iskandar Zulkarnaen, IPB Vice-Rector for Global Connectivity, Cooperation, and Alumni. Their presence reinforced IPB’s dedication to international networking and academic diplomacy, positioning Indonesia as an active contributor to global food security discussions.

During their visit, the IPB delegation also met with Indonesia’s Ambassador to Singapore, H.E. Suryo Pratomo, at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia on 24 July. The meeting explored potential areas of educational and research collaboration between IPB and Singaporean institutions, including student and researcher exchanges, as well as stronger engagement with the academic diaspora.

Ambassador Pratomo welcomed the visit and praised IPB’s proactive role in expanding Indonesia’s global partnerships. He emphasised the importance of joint efforts between Indonesian and Singaporean academic institutions in addressing regional and global food security challenges.

The visit is expected to pave the way for strategic partnerships between IPB and institutions in Singapore, fostering knowledge transfer and innovation in agriculture, food systems, and environmental resilience.
