STATE-OWNED ENTERPRISES MINISTER EMPHASISES THE STRATEGIC SIGNIFICANCE OF UTILISING THE PERTAMINA YOUTH CENTER TO BOLSTER LOCAL ECONOMIC GROWTH.

State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Minister Erick Thohir highlighted the potential for hosting a variety of events at the Pertamina Youth Center (GGM) in Majalengka, West Java, to bolster local economic growth, citing its strategic location near the toll road and airport.

Minister Thohir emphasised that GGM could serve as a venue for sporting, educational, and cultural festivals, as well as a hub for idea exchange and discussion, underscoring its versatility and potential impact on the community.

He disclosed the local government’s vision to develop the Kertajati area as a tourist destination in West Java, emphasising the tourism sector’s role in fostering economic development and ensuring tangible benefits for the local population.

President Director of Pertamina, Nicke Widyawati, reiterated the company’s commitment to nurturing Indonesia’s youth and supporting their endeavours for a promising future, highlighting GGM Pertamina in Majalengka as a testament to this commitment.

Ibu Widyawati detailed the construction timeline for GGM Pertamina, which commenced on July 14, 2023, boasting a spacious building area of 3,761 square meters equipped with modern facilities to accommodate various activities.

The facility’s comprehensive amenities, including seating for the public, VIP areas, and disability-friendly features, are geared towards fostering athletic excellence and community engagement, with a focus on supporting both local athletes and micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) players.
