Tourist arrivals in Singapore increased by 12.2% in November 2024 compared to the same period last year, with Indonesia and China leading the way.
Singapore welcomed 1.23 million tourists in November 2024, marking a 12.2% increase compared to November 2023, according to the latest data released by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB).
Indonesian tourists topped the list with 194,440 arrivals, reflecting a 5.5% rise from November 2023. China followed closely with 174,750 visitors, showing a substantial year-on-year increase of 67.5%. Local media attributed the surge in Chinese tourists to the mutual visa exemption between China and Singapore, which took effect in February 2024. For the first 11 months of the year, China emerged as Singapore’s largest source of visitors.
Malaysia ranked third, contributing 101,920 arrivals, a 9.1% increase compared to the same period last year. Despite the year-on-year growth, November’s total arrivals showed a slight decline from October’s 1.31 million visitors. The average length of stay for tourists in November was 3.54 days.
The steady rise in tourist numbers highlights Singapore’s continued appeal as a travel destination, driven by strong regional connections and strategic tourism initiatives.
