Plug and Play, a global innovation platform, has opened applications for the 14th cohort of the Global Innovation Alliance (GIA) Jakarta Acceleration Programme in partnership with Enterprise Singapore, the Singapore government agency supporting enterprise development and internationalisation. Applications close on 23 October 2026. The initiative helps eligible technology start-ups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) establish commercial opportunities in Indonesia through virtual preparation, expert guidance and a week-long business immersion in Jakarta.

Founded in Silicon Valley, United States, in 2006, Plug and Play operates accelerator schemes and corporate innovation initiatives internationally. Through this partnership, Singapore businesses can gain insights into the Indonesian market, meet prospective commercial partners and explore opportunities to test and commercialise their solutions.

The first two weeks focus on virtual onboarding and market preparation. Participants attend workshops covering the local business environment, recruitment, legal and regulatory requirements, investment conditions and expansion strategies. Activities also include pitch development, individual mentoring and introductory meetings with prospective partners.

The third week centres on in-person engagement in Jakarta, Indonesia. Participating companies attend office hours with industry experts, networking sessions involving Indonesian corporations and venture capital firms, and tailored mentoring meetings. These activities provide opportunities to identify prospective clients, engage investors and discuss potential commercial arrangements.

Enterprise Singapore also identifies the GIA Jakarta Ecosystem Mixer, Echelon and Plug and Play’s APAC Summit in Singapore as potential networking opportunities. Following the Jakarta immersion, participants can receive continued market-entry assistance and business introductions through the programme’s local team. The precise activities for each cohort should be confirmed against the latest published schedule.

To qualify, businesses must be registered and operating in Singapore, have a minimum viable product with existing customers and/or partners, and demonstrate that at least 30% of their equity is held directly or indirectly by Singapore citizens and/or permanent residents, based on ultimate individual ownership.

Eligible companies can apply through the official GIA Jakarta registration portal by 23 October 2026. Further details are available from Enterprise Singapore and Plug and Play APAC.
