In line with the orders of President Joko Widodo and the two other IMT-GT leaders, this campaign aims to revive the pandemic-affected tourism industry by arranging various activities.

The Visit IMT-GT Year 2023–2025 campaign in Indonesia focuses on all of Sumatra Island’s provinces. Mayor of Medan, Muhammad Bobby Afif Nasution, expressed pride in hosting the 7th Gelar Melayu Serumpun, receiving tremendous support from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.

Since Kharisma Event Nusantara (KEN) was launched in 2021, Gelar Melayu Serumpun has been one of the flagship events maintaining its position from 2022 to 2024 as a national and international event under the KEN list. During the opening on 29 May at Maimun Palace in Medan, Minister Sandiaga Uno hailed this year’s Gelar Melayu Serumpun as the third time in a row it has been recognized amongst the best events in Nusantara.
